Abide Gülel

FOUNDING PARTNER, GULEL ATTORNEYS AT LAW

Abide Gülel Saral is a Turkish attorney practicing in the fields of corporate law, international investments, energy law, and international trade. She is the founder of Istanbul-based Gülel Attorneys at Law. She provides consultancy to public and private sector companies in corporate governance, regulation, mergers and acquisitions, investment processes, and international trade. Additionally, she conducts training and studies in the fields of blockchain law and anti-money laundering (AML).
 
Saral completed her undergraduate education at Istanbul University Faculty of Law, and subsequently obtained her master's degree in energy law at the Centre for Energy, Petroleum and Mineral Law and Policy (CEPMLP) within the University of Dundee in the United Kingdom. She has various academic studies and theses in the field of energy law in Scotland.
 
She takes an active role in international platforms in the fields of energy law and nuclear law, and continues her membership on the board of directors of the Brussels-based International Nuclear Law Association (INLA) as the sole Turkish member.
 
In addition, she undertakes board of directors and executive committee roles in various companies operating in the sectors of agriculture, energy, education, and international trade. She serves as an Executive Committee Member at Gülel Hayvancılık A.Ş., a family company where she is a third-generation representative, and conducts studies particularly in overseas feed production, agricultural investments, and sustainable livestock farming.
 
Saral's work concentrates especially on Turkey-Africa commercial relations, energy law, compliance processes, and international business development. She serves as the Chairperson of the Turkey-Togo Business Council within the Foreign Economic Relations Board (DEİK) and carries out activities aimed at developing economic and commercial relations between Turkey and African countries.
 
Saral also conducts active work in mother- and child-focused social impact projects. She is among the founding board members of the Turkey structure of the international Mother’s Home project, which is supported at the United Nations and UNICEF levels.
 
The Mother’s Home model is implemented in different countries as an international social protection model that aims to support mothers in need of protection together with their children, and ensures that children grow up within family-based social support mechanisms. The project has also been the subject of academic studies within Harvard under social impact and sustainable social support models.
